  Festival is back with a bang after a two-year break Cuncolim: The Summer Tiatr Festival organized by Rising Club of Sanvorcotto, (RCS) Cuncolim is back with a bang after a two-year break and will be held from April 22 to 30 at Sanvorcotto grounds, informed organisers of the nine-day event.   Gelson Fernandes to join FIFA as Director Member Associations Africa FIFA is pleased to announce the appointment of Gelson Fernandes as Director Member Associations Africa. Former Swiss international midfielder Fernandes will take up the new role on 1 August 2022, with responsibility for overseeing services to strengthen the development of the African member associations through the Forward Programme. The 35-year-old with Cabo Verdean roots grew up in Switzerland and developed his footballing skills at FC Sion, where he currently holds the position of vice-president. “We are delighted to have Gelson joining the FIFA team,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino. “Gelson had a fantastic career as a footballer, and the experience he gained will be important to carry out his tasks to the best of his ability. Expatriate Indian Footbal Team win inaugural match in the Asian Communities Football Tournament

  Expatriate Indian Footbal Team wins by 5 - 0 against Japan in their inaugural match in the Asian Communities Football Tournament (ACFT) organized by Qatar Football Association for the Expatriate Asian Communities living in Qatar. Eight teams are participating in the  2022 edition. Group A featuring Sri Lanka, Nepal, Jordan and Lebanon, and, Group B shall feature Bangladesh, Japan, Palestine and India. Two top Teams from each Group will qualify for the Semis. India to play their second match with Bangaldesh on 8th April and last match of the group with Palestine on 12th April 2022. Last 2 matches will be played at Al Arabi Stadium. All India’s matches start at 11 pm. Semi Finals will be held on 17th April at Al Arabi Stadium. Hassan Al Thawadi, Secretary General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), responded to Qatar’s critics during the FIFA Congress on Thursday, saying the country’s hosting of the FIFA World Cup™ represented an historic opportunity to change perceptions about the Middle East and Arab world. He also said the tournament had acted as a catalyst to drive workers’ rights reforms in the country.
