The fifth edition of S’hail – Katara International Hunting & Falcons Exhibition 2021 – will begin on Tuesday (September 7) at 10am at the Wisdom Square and Hall of The Cultural Village Katara.

The distinguished exhibition -- considered as one of the largest in the Middle East and North Africa region and which attracts merchants and hunting enthusiasts from all over the world – will be held for five consecutive days from September 7 to September 11, 2021.

While the grand exhibition will be open from 10am to 10pm on all days, on Friday it will receive visitors from 2pm till 11pm.

S’hail shall be held in accordance with all the prevailing health precautionary measures of the Ministry of Public Health to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).  Entry shall be allowed to people aged 12 years and above, who are fully vaccinated to ensure the health and safety of all.

Katara has already launched a mobile app for patrons besides ensuring electronic methods for safe shopping and visit experience. The specialised application also shows the collection of the best types of falcons to be chosen for auctions.

Already established as one of the finest and most modern in exhibiting and trading  hunting and falconry equipment, S’hail 2021 has the participation of 160 trading firms (national and international) from 18 countries of the world. This year’s exhibition is also spread over a large area which exceeds all previous editions and ensures more space and safe distance for all.

Dedicated to promoting Qatar's rich Arab heritage and preserving culture, S’hail 2021 is backed by a number of companies including Ooredoo as the telecom sponsor, Qatar Insurance Company, The Social & Sport contribution Fund (DAAM), besides Debor and Zoom as logistical support partners.

The most sought after falcon auction each day at S’hail will be electronic and via the mobile app. The exhibition will also see more innovative competitions, programmes and cultural events aimed at preserving heritage and promoting the interest of authentic traditions.

The organisers have announced two competitions for the ‘Most Attractive Pavilion’ for being most aesthetic and innovative in terms of design,  and the ‘Most Beautiful Falconhood’ with its craftsmanship, look and comfort factor carrying valuable prizes. The best pavilion at S’hail will be given a prize of QAR 20,000 while there will be three prizes for the beautiful chosen falcon eye hoods of $3,000, $2,000 and $1,000 respectively.

The variety and expanse of S’hail now receives international attention and this year too the exhibition displays more and wider varieties of equipment and craft related to hunting.

From specialised and modified four-wheel drive SUV’s to safari camping gear to new technology hunting-aiding tools are all showcased at large and eye-catching pavilions sprawling all across the huge exhibition area and halls.

Specialised veterinary falcon hospitals and pavilions providing falconry care also occupy valuable place at the exhibition.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy traditional and hunting cuisine made from fresh catch at the Cultural Village during the exhibition.

All Katara restaurants will be adhering to precautionary health measures and safety standards measures set by the government agencies.
