DOHA:  Zaland snatched a point for Sprite Club as he forced a Division B match against Pak Falcons in the popular Qatar Airways T20 Cricket Tournament to end in a tie.

Qatar Airways, the national carrier of the State of Qatar with a network of over 140 destinations, is the title sponsor for the annual tournament. The event features 56 teams competing for top honors across three divisions. Over the years, the tournament has attained new heights and produced talented cricketers from Qatars diverse expatriate community.

Chasing a 142-run target at the West Bay Grounds, Pak Falcons, looking for their first win in three matches, appeared all set to collect full points when they required just four runs in the last over of Zaland with three wickets intact.

However, Zaland just gave away only three runs and helped Sprite Club bowl out the rivals, salvaging a point from the tied result. He finished with three scalps and Arif picked two. Munir (22) and Abdullah (18) were the highest scorers for Pak Falcons.

Earlier, Arif and Sanal lifted Sprite Club to a fighting total of 142, with the former smashing 48 and the latter getting 30. Majid Khan, who was declared the man of the match, grabbed five wickets.

Shujahat Ali cracked eight boundaries in his half-century to boost Qatar Super Kings to their second triumph in three matches. His 34-ball 57 and a 20 by Haroon fetched them a facile five-wicket victory over Blaster Guns.

Ali, who was adjudged the man of the match, shared six wickets with Raj to skittle out the opponents, who managed 129 despite a gritty 59 with a six and four boundaries. Furqan bagged two scalps. For the losers, it was their third successive setback.

Chittagong Rising Stars and Challengers Club pulled off their first win in two matches. A dashing 76 not out with two sixes and nine fours by Ali Akbar and a 54 by Anees, who got half a dozen fours, inspired Chittagong to crush Midas Club by 49 runs. Zakaria nailed three wickets for the winners.
