Afsarulla, Anwar shine for Warriors ‘Blue’

 

Aditya, Joseph also excel in QCA U19 academy cricket

Warriors ‘Blue’s Afsarullah and M Anwar took seven wickets between them and sent Stallions ‘Black’ crashing to a 10-wicket rout during the QCA Under-19 Boys Academy Cricket Tournament.

 

The Qatar Cricket Association (QCA) is holding the 40-over-a-side event to identify and prepare the talented young players for the future International Cricket Council tournaments and championships. 

 

Afsarullah grabbed four for 14 and Anwar collected three maiden wickets in his one over to enable Warriors ‘Blue’ to bundle out the rivals for just 35 in 11.1 overs. Taha then hit 21 not out with three fours to complete the big win in 4.3 overs. Afsarullah was declared the player of the match for his outstanding bowling as well.

 

In another match, Warriors ‘Green’ thrived on L Lalit Aditya’s all-round performance to humble Rising Stars ‘White’ by eight wickets. He got two for 5 in 10 balls. His teammate Abdul Shakoor picked three for 32 to restrict the rivals at 142 for nine in 19.4 overs

 

Aditya then hit an unbeaten 36 off 51 balls to set up the victory in 17.5 overs. Qasim Hassan also played an attractive knock of 44 in 29 balls, which included seven fours, to have the team rushing to the target. Aditya was later adjudged the man of the match too.

 

The third match saw Stallions ‘Maroon’ outplay Stallions ‘Gold’ by five wickets, with Jack Joemon Joseph starring in their victory. Joseph pocketed three wickets for 20 and Noman Daulat Khan got two for 29 to contain the ‘Gold’ team at 133 in 33.1 overs.

 

Joseph then top-scored for ‘Maroon’ with 38 in 51 balls to steer his team to the victory in 23 overs. He emerged as the player of the match for his superb display as well.
