Padel: Al Kuwari and six other pairs to lead home challenge at Ooredoo Qatar Major 2022

 

Doha: Qatar's leading padel player Mohammed Saadon Al Kuwari will pair with Spain's Ignacio Gonzalez Gadea at the Ooredoo Qatar Major 2022 which takes place from March 28 to April 2 at the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex in Doha, organizers of the event have announced.

The Qatar-Spanish pair will compete alongside a host of world's top-ranked players who will be seen in action in the first leg of the recently-announced Category 1 events of the Premier Padel Tour, which is backed by the Professional Players Association (PPA) and Qatar Sports Investments (QSI).

Besides, Al Kuwari-Gadea, the Qatari pair of Abdulla Al Hijji and Mohammed Abdulla will also be seen in action alongside six other pairs from Qatar.

The Qatari players will brush shoulders with the likes of world No.1 pair of Juan Lebrón Chincoa and Alejandro Galán Romo of Spain, who will be headlining a starcast that include Francisco Navarro (Spain)/ Martin Di Nenno (Argentina), Alejandro Ruiz Granados (Spain)/ Franco Stupaczuk (Argentina) and Federico Chingotto (Argentina)/Juan Tello (Argentina) and Pablo Jose Mongelo De Lima (Brazil)/Maximilano Sanchez Aguero (Argentina), among others.

The Premier Padel tour, the official new global padel tour of the International Padel Federation (FIP), is based on a new global calendar of international and national competitions – including four top category "Major" tournaments – which will take place in sensational venues around the world. At least ten tournaments each are scheduled for 2022 and 2023, ramping up to over 25 tournaments a year by 2024.
