The draw ceremony of the Qatar TotalEngeries Open 2023, a WTA will take place today at 6.00pm Qatar time at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.

The venue will host two back-to-back two mega tennis events, a WTA 500 event, which will be followed by the ATP tournament in which most of the top players are taking part. The Qatar TotalEngeries Open 2023 will have a 32-player field in the singles and 16-player draw in the doubles and will take place from February 13 to 19 while the men’s event Qatar ExxonMobil Open will be held from 20 to 26 tournament.

Grand Slam winner Daniil Medvedev, former champion in Doha Andrey Rublev and Alexander Zverev along with former champion Andy Murray and Doha-based Fernando Verdasco on wildcards are some of the leading lights of the tournament.

So coming to Saturday’s draw here are the 19 players who are seeded directly into the main draw on account of their rankings.

Let’s take a look at the 19 super stars of women tennis who are Qatar and who will be attending the draw ceremony which will be conducted by WTA officials in the presence of Qatar Tennis Federation, which is hosting the event.

Defending champion and World No 1 Iga Swiatek, winner of two Grand Slam titles last season, tops the lineup in Doha.

World No 3 Jessica Pegula, No 4 Caroline Garcia and make up the star cast.

Coco Gauff, Daria Kasatkina, Veronika Kudermetova and Belinda Bencic round out the top 10 entrants. Jelena Ostapenko and two-time Doha champion Petra Kvitova are other Grand Slam champions entered into the main-draw field.

Other main draw players are Danielle Collins,Madison Keys, Beatriz Haddad Maia,

Paula Badosa, Ekaterina Alexandrova, Liudmila Samsonova, Martina Trevisan, Shuai Zhang, Karolina Muchova and Barbora Krejcikova

Besides the top 19 players, four players will get Wild card for the tournaments, the names which will be out during the draw ceremony, the four qualifiers who are now in action on various at the Khalifa International Tennis Complex.  

Four players will get byes to the next round of the tournament

A word on the organization of the event

The organization of the event has in come in praise from many a player for the last twenty years or so the event has been held. Time and again the stars have heaped praises on the organizers for the perfect organization and the hospitality rolled out to them by the organizers.
