Qatari Duo win Doha Round of ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors doubles

 




Qatari duo Rashed and Mashari Nawaf won the doubles category title for the International Tennis Federation (ITF) for Junior Tour 2023, which was organized by the Qatar Tennis and Squash Federation at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex for a week and concluded today.

In the final match of the tournament, the brothers Nawaf defeated the US duo, Ronit Karki and Patel Araf 6-3 / 6-1.

In the singles category Rashed Nawaf won the second place after losing the final match to Russia's Dmitry Bessonov 6-4 / 5-7 / 1-6.

Rashid Nawaf said in his statement after finishing second: "It was a difficult match against the first-seeded Russian Bessonov. I won the first set, then lost the second and tried to come back in the last set but couldn't." He extended thanks to the Qatar Tennis Federation for its continuous support to him and all Qatari players, stressing his determination to move forward to making more achievements to honor tennis and sports in Qatar.
